In-State Residents:
- Cowboy Commitment – The University of Wyoming wants students from the Cowboy State to know that college is within reach. The Cowboy Commitment is an annual renewing financial pledge to new first-time students from Wyoming. Read more.
- Scholarship amounts vary, from: $6,500, $3,500, $1,500, or $500 annually,
- Criteria: student’s cumulative high school GPA and composite test scores (ACT or SAT)
- Hathaway Scholarship – The State of Wyoming has established a generous scholarship program, in the name of former Wyoming Governor Stan Hathaway, that rewards eligible Wyoming students with scholarship money to attend the University of Wyoming. Read more.
- Trustees’ Scholars Award – The UW Trustees’ Scholars Award is the premier scholarship for the best and brightest Wyoming high school seniors. Those students currently enrolled in high school will be considered, and Trustees’ Scholars Award recipients typically average a 3.95 unweighted high school GPA and an average ACT composite score of 32. - Students who receive the Trustees’ Scholars Award will have a four-year scholarship for an undergraduate degree (or up to 8 consecutive semesters), including tuition, mandatory fees, university standard double room and board (room and board will be covered providing the student resides in university housing and utilizes a meal plan).
Out-of-State Residents:
- Brown and Gold Commitment – The University of Wyoming is committed to the success of students from outside Wyoming. The Brown and Gold Commitment is an annual renewing financial pledge to new first-time non-resident students. Read more.
- Scholarship amounts vary: $12,000, $8,000, $5,000, or $3,000 (paid annually)
- Criteria: student’s cumulative high school GPA and composite test scores (ACT or SAT)
- Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) Award – WUE is an award that discounts non-resident tuition to 150% of the resident tuition. The estimated savings is over $13,000 per year or $52,000 over the course of four years. Read more.
