National Merit

The University of Tulsa is pleased to award admitted National Merit Semifinalists its highest academic scholarship, the National Merit Semifinalist Package.
Award

  • Full tuition (excluding summers) for five years or until an undergraduate degree is earned. Students must maintain a minimum of 15 hours of coursework per semester.
  • Tier I Housing (upgrades are available at your expense)
  • Tier II Dining (upgrades are available at your expense)
  • Standard Student Fees
  • Textbooks (all incoming students receive free textbooks for the entirety of their undergraduate years)
  • Secured spot in Leadership TU led by President Brad Carson
  • A minimum $750 scholarship for National Merit Finalists from the National Merit organization.
  • $6,000 monetary gift per year (funded by the Oklahoma Regents or the TU Board of Trustees)

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Tulsa offers a comprehensive range of merit scholarships for first-year domestic students, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding academic excellence. Here’s a summary of the key scholarships available:

  • Presidential Scholarship: recipients are awarded full tuition for eight semesters. Eligible students must have a 4.0 grade point average and must submit a separate application and resume when applying for the Presidential Scholarship.   • Honors College Scholarship: awarded to new freshmen based on exceptional performance in high school, ACT or SAT scores and Honors Program application essay. Participation in Honors Program coursework is mandatory. The Honors Scholarship is a tuition based scholarship, that once combined with other TU scholarship opportunities cannot exceed the value of full-tuition. The maximum value of the scholarship is $2,000.
  • TU Academic Scholarship – variable amounts
  • TU Commitment Award – variable amounts
  • International Leadership Scholarship – variable amounts
