A scholarship for eligible incoming first-year students selected as National Merit finalists who have designated UNLV as their number one school choice.

  • Other Requirements: Must list UNLV as the number one school choice.
  • Audience: First-year Students
  • Renewable: Up to 135 attempted credits, including transfer credit, with a cumulative GPA of 2.00
  • Stackable: Yes
  • FAFSA or Alternate Need Form and Admissions Priority Deadline: November 15
  • Amount: $10,000

Additional Scholarship Opportunities

UNVL offers the following merit scholarships each year to qualified students. Programs include:

  • UNLV Signature Scholarship
    • An academic scholarship for undergraduate students offered at the time of admission, in recognition of their academic achievements. Award amounts: vary.
  • Governor Guinn Millennium Scholarship (GGMS)
    • Administered by the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office NVIGATE – A merit-based scholarship available to Nevada high school graduates that pays up to a lifetime total of $10,000.
  • Valedictorian Scholarship
    • A scholarship for eligible incoming first-year students who are ranked number one on their high school transcript at the time of admission. Award amount: $1,000
