National Merit
National Merit Finalists may be eligible for the Chancellor’s Tuition Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to finalists in nationally recognized scholar competitions, such as the National Merit, National Hispanic, National African American, National Indigenous and National Rural and Small Town Recognition programs.
Chancellor’s Tuition Scholarship
- Scholarship Details: Full University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate tuition per year for up to four years (or completion of a bachelor’s degree), with three inclusive summers, including differential tuition (the Colleges of Business, Architecture and Engineering have differential tuition rates).
- National Merit Scholars may receive an additional $500 from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
- National Merit finalists must select the University of Nebraska–Lincoln as their first-choice school through the National Merit Corporation.
- Nationally recognized finalists must score a minimum of 28 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent) and have a minimum 3.500 GPA.
- Open to both in-state and out-of-state residents.
Additional Scholarship Opportunities
In-State Residents
- President’s Scholarship
- Award: Full cost of attendance for up to four years, plus an annual $5,000
- Criteria: Awarded to incoming admits with top test scores of 36 ACT (1570–1600 SAT).
- Regents Scholar Tuition Commitment
- Award: Full Tuition
- Criteria: Awarded to Nebraska students who have demonstrated academic excellence and academic distinction at the highest level.
Out-of-State Residents
- New Nebraskan Tuition Scholarship
- Award: $12,000 to $20,000 (toward tuition)
- Criteria: Awarded to out-of-state students who have demonstrated high academic potential to offset the cost of out-of-state tuition.
- Husker Salute Pledge
- Award: Waiver of Nonresident Portion of Tuition (estimated at $18,000)
- Criteria: A tuition pledge to offset the cost of tuition for out-of-state students in recognition of a student or family military connection who has demonstrated their ability to succeed at Nebraska.
