Additional Scholarship Opportunities
The following scholarships are offered for prospective first-year students at University of Colorado Boulder.
Colorado Residents
- University of Colorado Boulder Esteemed Scholars Program
- The CU Boulder Esteemed Scholars Program reflects CU Boulder’s commitment to recognizing the exceptional academic potential of Colorado students. Named for CU Boulder’s first presidents, the scholarships include President Joseph A. Sewall and President Horace M. Hale.
- Newly admitted students will be considered for one of two Esteemed scholarships:
- Horace M. Hale: $4,000 per year (renewable for four years, totaling $16,000)
- Joseph A. Sewall: $7,000 per year (renewable for four years, totaling $28,000)
- Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship
- The Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship is offered to first-year students who apply and are admitted with a declared A&H major.
- Residents can receive the A&H Gold Scholarship: $3,000 per year (renewable for four years, totaling $12,000)
- Regent Scholarship
The Regent scholarship is available to first-year students who graduate from Colorado high schools. One $1,000 Regent scholarship is offered each year per Colorado high school based on high academic achievement as measured by GPA, rank in class, and level of coursework.
Non-resident Students
- CU Boulder Chancellor’s Achievement Scholarship
- The CU Boulder Chancellor’s Achievement Scholarship is available to nonresident students.
- Newly admitted students will be considered for a scholarship of $6,250 per year (renewable for four years, which is $25,000 total).
- Presidential Scholarship
- The Presidential Scholarship is available to nonresident students.
- Newly admitted students will be considered for a scholarship of $15,000 per year for their first and second years, then $12,500 per year for the remaining two years (totaling $55,000).
- Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship
- The Arts & Humanities Merit Scholarship is awarded to first-year students who applied and were admitted with a declared A&H major.
- Nonresidents can receive the A&H Achievement Scholarship*: $4,000 per year (renewable for four years, totaling $16,000)
