Additional Scholarship Opportunities
SDSU offers a limited number of scholarships each year to qualified first-year students. Programs include:
- First-Year High Achieving Scholarship
- A limited number of scholarships are offered to high achieving first-year admitted California students. The scholarship application is available by invitation-only and qualified first-year applicants are notified to apply in March for award consideration. Award values usually range between $1,000-$5,000 or more per year.Â
- SDSU Merit Scholarships
- The SDSU Merit Scholarship, SDSU’s most prestigious scholarship, is awarded to a select number of the most academically-qualified students who graduate from a local SDSU admissions-area high school and achieve a minimum 4.32 high school GPA. The scholarship application is available by invitation-only and qualified first-year applicants are notified in December and January if they are eligible for consideration. Awards amounts are typically $7,500 – $10,000 per year.Â
- Presidential Scholars Program
- Students accepted to our Presidential Scholars program may be eligible for a scholarship worth up to $40,000 over four years. The scholarship application is for California residents and is available by invitation-only.  Qualified first-year applicants are notified in December through March if they are eligible for consideration.
- SDSU Advantage Scholarship Program
- A limited number of scholarships are offered to non-California resident students with strong academic records and engagement in co-curricular activities. The Office of Admissions will notify the recipients. Questions regarding this scholarship should be directed to the Out of State Admissions Office: prospective@sdsu.edu
- Weber Honors College Scholarship
- The Weber Honors College awards a limited number of scholarships each year to students who apply by the deadline and are accepted into the fall cohort of the Weber Honors College. Awards amounts are typically $1,000 – $7,500 per year.
