National Merit

Finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program who apply to VCU by Nov. 1 and notify the National Merit Scholarship Corp. by May 31 that VCU is their first choice are eligible for a VCU Presidential Scholarship.

  • Presidential Scholarship - The four-year Presidential Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and fees up to $16,000 per year (maximum amount of $8,000 per semester), as well as room and board. Room allowance is equal to the cost of a room in the Honors College residence hall; board is equivalent to the 250 Block plus $175 Dining Dollars meal plan.
  • Merit-based scholarships cover in-state costs only.
