- Eligibility Criteria: Semi-finalist and finalists with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
- Award Amount: 100% tuition and fees up to 15 credits per semester.
- UMaine National Merit Award requires students must maintain at least full-time enrollment (no fewer than 12 graded credit hours per semester) at their current tuition status leading to an undergraduate degree at UMaine.
- Note – this is available to both Maine residents and out-of-state students.

- Out of State Resident: The Flagship Scholars Commitment Program provides admissions-based scholarships to high-achieving out-of-state students, emphasizing high school GPA and coursework rigor. No additional application is required.
- Presidential Flagship Commitment: Available Annual Award Range: $17,980 to $24,902.
- Flagship Match Commitment: Available Annual Award Range: $14,980 to $19,902. This scholarship matches the cost of UMaine’s out-of-state tuition and fees to the student's home state flagship institution's tuition and fee rates.
- Flagship Leaders Commitment: Available Annual Award Range: $9,000 – $12,000.
- Maine Resident: The Maine Scholarship Commitment Program awards competitive, renewable scholarships based on high school GPA and coursework rigor at the time of admission.
- Available Annual Award Range: $2,000-$9,000.
- Maine’s Top Scholars:
- Eligibility Criteria: High-achieving Maine students selected based on GPA, academic rigor, program of interest, and demonstrated leadership/community service.
- Award Amount: 100% tuition and fees, up to 30 credits per academic year (renewable for four years with a maintained 3.3 GPA).
- Additional Benefits: Opportunity for scholarly activity/research and invitation to join the Honors College.
